Retired Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath is said to be considering an offer to revive his career in the burgeoning Svenson Backyard Cricket League. Having previously been linked to the newly formed breakaway Indian Cricket League, McGrath is said to be interested in the prospects of a career revival closer to home.

Asked how he would handle the pace restrictions in the Backyard arena, the paceman responded that "My metronome like bowling made me an Australian hero, it doesn't need to be 100 miles an hour to put the ball on the spot and take wickets."

Current Svenson star Aidan Parham said he wouldn't be intimidated at the prospect of facing one of the greatest fast bowlers the world has seen. "As long as he brings some of his BBQ sauce, I don't care how fast he's bowling."
